Pascal Duquenne

The first prize for best actor received in 1996 – jointly with Daniel Auteuil – at the Cannes Film Festival for his role in Jaco Van Dormael’s film “The Eighth Day” should not hide his plastic sensibility, even if his reputation has often been built on his acting talents.
Pascal Duquenne creates elegant female portraits, busts or close-up faces. He does not bother with details that allow him to place the model in space and it is with very few contour lines that he gives a blatant femininity and sensuality to his black and white paintings.
Pascal Duquenne has been attending the CRÉAHM-BXL art center since 2000.
